I build things
to understand them.

I'm Amanda Breeze — a creative technologist in Ontario, Canada. I make interactive science explainers, self-hosted software, and brand systems, usually because a question wouldn't leave me alone.

Everything here is designed, written, and built by me, end to end.

The Molecular Lab

The science hiding in ordinary things — laundry, coffee, weather, fabric — with experiments you can run in your browser. Step inside; the lights are different in here.

Make It Make Toonies

Public Canadian records — birth registers, catalogues, filings — asked plain questions and built into instruments you can run yourself. The paper stays out where you can read it.

A monitoring dashboard for my own servers, named from the Old Norse for lighthouse watch — live traffic intelligence, container controls, and log tailing, built because I wanted to see my infrastructure breathe.

Invertebrate education at trade shows and events — real animals, real questions, and the creative direction that made people stop at a table full of things they thought they were afraid of.

About

Hello — I'm glad you're here.

I've never been able to leave a system alone. Show me something everyone uses and nobody understands — a washing machine, a weather pattern, a piece of public policy — and I'll take it apart until it makes sense, then build something so it makes sense to you too.

That habit has taken me through cognitive science at the University of Toronto, a decade running my own design and development studio, live science outreach with a table full of invertebrates, and a growing shelf of interactive experiments. The connecting thread is the question I ask of everything: how does this actually work, who does it serve, and what would a more honest version look like?

I live in Ontario with my husband, our two kids, and a Bengal cat named Mojo who supervises all deployments.

Let's make something that makes sense.

If you'd like an interactive explainer for your institution or publication, a web platform built end to end, or you just want to talk about why your towels smell — my inbox is open.
